Roger Ward has been active in audio, media and technical production for over 30 years. Whilestill in college, Roger began working for Dunham’s Music House in Asheville, NC. Upon college graduation with a degree in Music Education from Mars Hill College, he was named manager for the Instrumental and Production Departments of Dunham’s Music House. In 1982, Roger purchased the entire Sound and Production sector of Dunham’s and began his own company, Blue Ridge Sound.
Following several years of serving in many capacities with local churches as Minister of Music while still maintaining Blue Ridge Sound as a functioning business, Roger and family moved to Greensboro, NC where Roger attended and graduated from UNC-G with a Masters Degree in Music Education. Blue Ridge Sound became Ward Productions during this time as Roger provided production expertise and recording productions for organizations such as the Baptist State Convention of North Carolina, Cooperative Baptist Fellowship, etc.
In 2004, new doors opened and Ward Productions became Roger’s full-time passion. While working with churches and faith-based organizations, Roger found a need for a person who could both understand church musicians while providing professional audio and video services that best fit their unique situations. Now, this vision has expanded to working with local, state and national organizations as well as installing and providing full media installations and services to churches and schools, both small and large.
Roger has provided coordination and sound services for many nationally known artists such as:
Sandy Patty, Ken Medema, Larnelle Harris, Kyle Matthews, Ray Charles, Tracy Lawrence, The Supremes, Wynton Marselles, Duke Ellingtion Big Band, “Airmen of Note” Air Force Reserve Jazz Band, Sammy Kaye Orchestra, Ray Stevens, and many others. Street festivals such as Asheville’s Bel Chere, Brevard Music Center’s Jazz Festival, Garner Fourth of July Celebration are also included within his services.
Organizations ranging from Classical Concerts provided by the Moore County Arts Council, North Carolina Ballet Company, Kidsville Kids based in Fayetteville, Mars Hill College, Meredith College, UNC-G and many local schools have and are benefitting from Roger’s expertise and abilities.
Roger’s skills in audio, multi-media, and ability to work with people of all ages are invaluable to many organizations both sacred and secular. He has been described by those as consistent, dependable, and knowledgable in his field. “Roger sees the big picture and is flexible to work within the requirements of our particular need.”
